Lieutenant Robert Lepper Valentine died 30th April 1916.

Robert Lepper Valentine. Lieutenant 8th Battalion The Royal Dublin Fusiliers. Died of wounds received on the 30th of April 1916 aged 26. he was the Son of the late William J. and Grace Dalton Valentine, of Enniskillen, Ireland. Inventor of a quick-firing improvement to the Lewis Machine Gun. Appointed assistant surveyor to the Geological Survey of Ireland, by competitive examination, after enlistment in the 7th Bn. Royal Dublin Fusiliers. He is buried in the Noeux-les-Mines Communal Cemetery, Pas de Calais, France.
