Captain Cecil James Dodds
Captain Cecil J. Dodds, Royal Munster Fusiliers, who was killed in action on 22nd Sept., 1916, was educated at High School and Mountjoy School, Dublin. He obtained in December, 1914, a commission in the Royal Irish Regiment, and was shortly afterwards transferred to the Royal Munster Fusiliers. In July, 1915, he went with the 10th Division to Gallipoli, taking part in the landing at Suvla Bay, and subsequent operations on the Peninsula till its evacuation, when he proceeded to Salonika. He was the eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. J. Dodds, 18 Charleville Road, Rathmines, Dublin.Source: Irish Life Magazine 24 November 1916 (David Power)
